at Clitheroe Cricket Club
Friday 16th June 2017 , 10 am - 3pm
Team: Sam K , Raees, William, Corey, Aariz, Rayaan, Sam F, Joseph, Oliver, Harry
A cold and windy day did not put off our group of very keen boys at Clitheroe Cricket Club. Our first game against Chatburn was very close and we narrowly lost by 3 runs.
Our next game was a friendly match against Clitheroe St James' , which we won. Both team were in good spirits and showed excellent sportsmanship.
Continuing with the tournament, and we lost against Mellor, then beat Brookside's A team. Our final match was a success against Brookside's B team.
All of the boys behaved impeccably and displayed many of our sporting values including teamwork, respect and passion. Well done everyone and thank you to the parents who dropped off and collected and to those who braved the wind and cold to stay and support the team.

Despite the rain, the children had a successful evening.
CONGRATULTONS to Kate for finishing 4th overall in a field of approximately 120 children. A fantastic achievement!
WELL DONE also to Harry for finishing in 57th place, and to Sam for completing shortly after Harry. Again the boys field was large with approximately 120 competitors.

Kate, Sam K and Harry
These 3 children have recently been invited to attend the East Lancashire Cross Country Finals in Rossendale on Thursday 8th June. After competing in events involving both small and large schools, Kate finished in 1st Place Overall in The Ribble Valley Girls section. Sam and Harry have also been placed in the top 25 for Ribble Valley Boys. Well done to you all and Good luck on the 8th.
Even though we were very disappointed that the Animal Olympics events had to be cancelled due to poor weather, we were really excited to hold our own intra-class team olympics competition. The children had fun taking part in a carousel of different activities: relays, hockey dribbling, egg and spoon, beanbag toss and balancing tennis ball. We scored each event and the scores are in:
St George - 83 points
St David - 107 points
St Patrick - 122 points!
St Andrew - 87 points
Well done to each team for showing the first seeds of our sporting values and for both supporting and competing with teamwork, honesty, respect and determination. For the first time this afternoon some of our children learnt to skip with a rope! We are looking forwards to our health and wellbeing week in school next week. We're all warmed up....
Quad Kids ( Athletics)
Wilson Playing Fields, Clayton.
Thursday 4th May
Team: Years 3 and 4 children
It was great to be able to take all our year 3/4 pupils to this competition, on a lovely sunny morning. Each child took part in 4 events: sprint, distance, standing long jump and throwing. Points were awarded during the competition, but it was more about having a go at different activities which all the children did with great enthusiasm. Well done Y3/4!
A special well done to Xander in Year 3 who showed amazing teamwork by encouraging and supporting other children and going back to help them whilst racing. Xander was one of the 2 boys who were the first to be awarded in our new 'Spirit of the Games' reward scheme. He achieved his 'Teamwork' award in recognition for his support. Well done Xander!

Tag Rugby V 'Langho and Billington St Leonard's'
at Home
Wednesday 20th April 1.30 - 3pm
Team 1: Sam F, Sam K, Kate, Kareena, Raees, Aariz, Joseph, William, Erin,
Team 2: Corey, Warwick, Matthew, Emelye, Nur, Zaina, Hannah, Lucy, Zaynab
An enjoyable afternoon playing against and with St Leonard's at home in the sunshine! With four teams participating, we could play different combinations of games. It was a lovely opportunity to learn new skills from each other and make some new friends. The first two matches were against each other and it was an evenly matched afternoon: team 1 won both of their games, and each of the two Langho teams won a game.
We then gave the children an opportunity to play with each other and mixed the 35 children up into 4 teams. After an initial 'getting to know each other' session(which really didn't take long!), competition became fierce and their was some really good communication, collaboration and team work emerging! ( Along with A LOT of determination!) Although it wasn't as easy to referee due to the mix of coloured shirts, it was fantastic to watch! Hopefully, some of the year 6 will remember their new friends as they move on to their new schools in September!
Thank you to Mr Kelly and Mrs Welch for bringing the children over, and to Mrs Foster for coming along to support us.
