Welcome to our class. We are an inquisitive class of superstar learners who are taught and supported by: Mrs Gow, Mrs Burton and Mrs Pinnington (and our class squirrel Acorn). Every day we love to find out new things and we have different challenge areas in our classroom to help us to reflect, explore, create, construct, imagine and problem solve. We hope you will find out lots of information about our current learning on our class pages. Our termly outlines and curriculum maps give a broad overview of some of our exciting topics and the links between our learning experiences. If you would like any more information about our class work or would like to support our work in class, then please feel free to get in touch.
We have had a fabulous trip out today at the RNLI and then on to the Ribble Discovery Centre. We had a chance to visit the RNLI and hear all about the work of the lifeboats. It was lovely to find out how the volunteers give their time to help others. We also saw historical items of clothing, such as lifevests made from cork! Then we went on to the Ribble Discovery centre and had fun building sandcastles, running sand dune relays, beachcombing, enjoying an ice-cream and also mud dipping. We had a fabulous time and loved learning about the different sea creatures and their habitats. Many thanks to all our volunteers, for helping make our trip a success. We'll all sleep well tonight...
Even though we were very disappointed that the Animal Olympics events had to be cancelled, we were really excited to hold our own intra-class team olympics competition. The children had fun taking part in a carousel of different activities: relays, hockey dribbling, egg and spoon, beanbag toss and balancing tennis ball. We scored each event and the scores are in:
St George - 83 points
St David - 107 points
St Patrick - 122 points!
St Andrew - 87 points
Well done to each team for showing the first seeds of our sporting values and for both supporting and competing with teamwork, honesty, respect and determination. For the first time this afternoon some of our children learnt to skip with a rope! We are looking forwards to our health and wellbeing week in school next week. We're all warmed up....
