Y5/6 Swimming Gala
at Edisford Pool, Clitheroe
Monday 12th March 1 - 3pm
Team: Lucy, Zaynab, Aalisha, Tara, Aleece, Joshua, Joseph, Jack, Adam and Xander.
This was our first swimming event and we are very proud of the children. There were over 90 children competing in a variety of races. Whilst we did not come away with any medals, our children displayed great sportsmanship: cheering and encouraging each other and applauding the winners. They showed determination, passion, self belief and teamwork. We could not have been any prouder of them.
Thanks to Mr Ward, Mrs Eastham and Mr Greenwood for transporting and supporting the children and to Mr Bargh for coming down to cheer them on.
Whole School OAA problem solving Day
with Outdoor Elements
Monday 26th February
A great day learning about the importance of communication in teamwork. Children worked together to come up with solutions to problems/challenges. After solving them, they learned the importance of evaluating and improving: how could they do it better/ Quicker? They learned the importance of following rules and supporting each other. Many children showed great leadership skills throughout the day. Have a look at some of the photos below.
Y3/4 Gymnastics
at St Augustine's RC High School
Monday 5th February 5 - 6pm
Team: Maxwell, Eva, Tilly, George and Amaani.
Our 5 children performed very well in a competition that we have only entered once before. For three of the children this was their very first gymnastics competition. After having learned their routines in a very short space of time, they performed confidently to judges. This is quite a daunting experience as there is an audience and it is absolutely silent! We didn't get placed in this occasion but it was a great experience and opportunity for them. They all displayed self belief and determination clearly throughout the evening. Well done everyone.
Thanks to Mrs Riddell for putting in the extra hours to coach and take the children to this event.
'B' Team Football Tournament
at Accrington Academy
Friday 2nd February
Team: Robert, Lucy, Evie, George R, Oliver, Maxwell and Xander.
Well done to our team who all played fearlessly and defended bravely in each of their 3 matches. We didn't manage to win any but all of the children displayed our sporting values well and kept their heads held high. Well done everyone.
Thank you to Mr Manager, Chris Bargh and our trusty team of parent fans.
KS1 Dance Festival
at Bowland High school
Thursday 18th January
WOW this event was so much fun. We learned a fantastic routine based on the song 'You've got a friend in me' and then experimented with lots of different ways of moving our bodies to music using ribbons, streamers, parachutes, scarves and foils.
Team: Anna, Evelyn, Malin, Fatimah, Arabella, Haris, Alayna, Jessica, Austin, Paloma, Hannah

CONGRATULATIONS to our Y5/6 team for finishing 3rd in the small schools event.
Children particpated in in a range of track and field events on a very busy evening: nine schools were present, each with teams of 12 children.
Our boys performed particularly well, finishing first in the 4x1 lap relay and in the obstacle race and 2nd in the 2x2 lap relay.
The girls also performed particularly well in the obstacle race, finishing 2nd.
The whole team showed great sportsmanship and amazing passion and determination throughout each event. We are extremely proud of them.
Thanks to Mrs Redmayne and Mr Greenwood for helping with transport to the event.
