Happy Birthday to all our children that have a birthday over the Summer holidays.
Balderstone Rocks!!!
Well done to all the performers in our summer production of "Shakespeare Rocks". You all did a great job and it was lovely watching you perform on stage so confidently. The children even knew songs which our class were not a part of - I cannot wait until they are in Year 6 when they will be leading the performances!
Not only were we celebrating a little boy turning 5 today, we were celebrating him becoming a big brother. Congratulations and thank you for the cake!
Eid Celebrations
We celebrated the festival of Eid with our very own Eid Party. Through R.E. children had learned about the Muslim celebration at the end of Ramadhan, Eid Al Fitr.
Stick Man oh stick man you excellent friend...thanks, thanks a million, thanks without end! Our new starters for Reception in September enjoyed making friendships.
We loved finding out about all the children's half term holidays. They seem to have had a wonderful time, especially one little girl who had a very important job to do as Chief Bridesmaid for her Mummy and Daddy's wedding!
Our other STAR from the Golden Book was lucky enough to find today's chocolate in our Ramadan countdown calendar which we are learning about as part of our RE lessons.
Teachers do not know everything, especially about tractors! Children learned so much during this passionate show and tell hosted by today's Golden Book Star!
On this lovely sunny day, we released the butterflies which we have spent the last few weeks observing.
Our trip to Smithills Open Farm
We had a wonderful time at the farm. The children had donkey rides, a tractor and trailer ride, a visit to Pets Corner and the milking parlour. Having been lucky enough for the sun to stay with us all day, it really did make us all feel a bit sleepy on the way home!
Happy 5th Birthday. Thanks for the treats; we will love blowing bubbles.
We were lucky to learn about Paw Patrol and horse riding when these two pre school children entertained us during Show and Tell. The children had some great questions for them.
The Snail and the Whale
We have been trying hard to retell familiar stories using story language. Listen to these beginnings. Get your child to tell you the story at home.

Making numbers using Numicon. We know that when we have ‘10’, we can count on without starting from zero.
Keeping the pulse in music is easy when we have 32 beats, but when there are only 2 beats it can be quite tricky! We can’t wait for our grown ups to come in and try it one day!
