Our youngest children in reception are taught in our EYFS class which consists of Pre-school and Reception together. We admit a a maximum of 15 Reception children and 13 pre-school children. Children spend 2 years in each of our classes.   This system works extremely well.  It enables class teachers to get to know the children in depth over a two year period, and thus to support their individual learning needs most effectively.  It also means that the dynamics of the class change each year as year groups move on.  During their first year in a new class the children are in the younger year group.  When the older group move on, they then become the oldest in the class, providing stability and example to the younger children.
