At Balderstone we use ParentMail, a service paid for by school to help us communicate and collect payments from parents.
For ease of use, we recommend you download the free ParentMail App as this means you won’t need to remember your login details, you won’t ever have to deal with browser issues and you will receive all your important school messages direct to your smartphone instantly. To do this simply search for ParentMail in your App store.
ParentMail is our preferred source of communication but we may occasionally also send messages by email.
It is also our online payment service, which allows you to pay for school items on your smartphone, tablets or computer. Many parents had said they prefer to pay for school dinners and other items online, because it’s easier, more convenient and safer than sending cash or cheques into school so this is way we became a ‘cashless school’ back in 2016.
We will inform you about items you need to pay through Parentmail, and you will then be able to pay electronically, with money transferred directly into the school bank account. It’s all very easy, safe and secure. ParentMail does not store credit or debit card details and works in the same way as other large retailers who accept online payments.
The system is primarily for making payments online and you can access the ‘shop’ to purchase water bottles and termly toast or ‘Bunny Bundle’ but it can also be used for giving parental permission to go on trips, even if no payment is required. It can be used to sign your child up for an after school club which may have restricted numbers. It will also be used to purchase tickets for the concerts in school so it is important that even if your child does not have dinners, you still sign up for this service so you don’t miss out.

- Data Processing – We will collect your name, email address and mobile phone number and pass this electronically through our Student Information Management System to Parentmail once your child has enrolled. This process is necessary to enable Parentmail to contact you by email or text to invite you to sign up and create an account once your child has started school.
