Journalling at Balderstone

In order to develop our children's ability to reason and problem solve, we provide daily opportunities for our pupils to work collaboratively on tasks. Each child has a maths 'Journal', where they can show their depth of understanding by explaining their thinking. They are expected to work practically with others to solve a problem before finding ways to represent their mathematical understanding in their books. Children enjoy their journaling work and regularly demonstrate their resilience at problem-solving.
