Forest Church

At Balderstone St Leonard's CE Primary School, Forest Church provides a unique opportunity for our school and church families to worship, reflect and grow together in God’s creation. Rooted within the beautiful countryside surrounding St Leonard's Church, Forest Church encourages children and families to experience spirituality through nature, community and prayer. 

Through outdoor worship, storytelling, exploration and reflection, children are encouraged to develop awe and wonder for the world around them whilst deepening their understanding of God’s love and creation. Forest Church allows our children to pause, reflect and connect with others in a peaceful and nurturing environment.

Our Forest Church sessions help children to:

• develop spiritually through prayer and reflection

• appreciate and care for God’s world

• build confidence, resilience and teamwork

• experience worship in creative and meaningful ways

• strengthen relationships within our church and wider community
