Week beginning 30th January 2017
As always we have had a very busy week in school. In Reception they have had a special visitor; Mr Parkinson came in his police car and his full uniform! He was immediately put to work investigating a case of mysterious footprints in the classroom. On Monday the Reception children were inspired by Chinese New Year, they lit and launched 2 Chinese lanterns. The children then produced some fantastic independent writing of which they were very proud.
All the children have been working hard at their writing and our special Write On Wednesday (WOW) books are now well established. Year 1 and 2 invented amazing fantasy animals to write about, Year 3 and 4 were writing play scripts and Year 5 and 6 were writing some very creative diaries based on a Science Fiction film clip.
Year 3 and 4 are almost at the end of their block of swimming lessons now. All the children have done well but it was brilliant to see Zain, Jauhara, Zareen, Hannah, Ali, Skye and Eesa all swim for the first time!
Next week is online safety week; please remember to talk to your children about keeping safe online. We will be sending home lots of useful information.
