What a very busy week we have had in school! On Monday all the children enjoyed the Healthy Heart Workshop. They learnt life skills and habits to keep themselves well. Year 5 and 6 went further and learnt basic CPR so that they could be “mini-medics”.
Tuesday was Pancake Day and Ms. Lee made pancakes and ice cream for desert, yummy! The infants have also been busy cooking their own pancakes. The children in Reception even had a pancake race!
On Ash Wednesday we gathered together for whole school worship. It was very moving as in a moment of quiet reflection each child was invited to draw a cross using ashes. The children were asked to think about their lives and how they could ask God for guidance and support.
Mrs Gow has been thrilled with the contributions the children have made to our vision and ethos group, “Salt and Light”. They met for the first time this week and have lots of good ideas for developing worship.
Thursday was such an exciting day in school. The children all came with mums and dads to our Story teller breakfast. Their World Book Day capes were a triumph! They were so creative and really showed what a wonderful knowledge of books our children have. All the children enjoyed the book swap and took home their free book. The day ended with worship, led by Ralph from The Gideon’s. He talked to the children about a very special book, The Bible.
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, despite the miserable weather.
