In 2017/8 our school plans to use our sports funding (£16,810) to:

Balderstone wins GOLD!

We are once again proud to announce that we have been awarded the 'School Games GOLD' award in recognition of our standards and participation in PE and School Sport. Thanks to HRVSSP, staff, parents, coaches and children for your contributions, support and laughter along the way.

Whole School Achievements/Impact

 

  • We achieved the GOLD Sportsmark award in July 2018 for our sports provision.
  • 100% of our Y6 leavers were given the opportunity to represent school on at least 4 occasions.
  • 100% of our KS1 pupils represented school on at least 2 occasions during this academic year.
  • 100% of our KS2 pupils represented school on at least 2 occasions over the academic year. 
  • 89% of our KS2 pupils were engaged in extra-curricular sporting activity each week.
  • 80% of our KS1 pupils participated in an after school sporting activity each week.
  • We participated in our first Football League over the academic year and finished as runners up for the season.
  • KS1 children participated and returned as runners up in the Animal Olympics.

Swimming

 

 

In July 2018, 93% of our Y6 pupils left Balderstone School having met the National Curriculum minimum requirements: being able to swim the minimum distance of 25m.

The remaining 7% received booster lessons for 2 terms and made great progress, but lacked the confidence to reach the required standard.
